Hello, all. I’m an aspiring comic who hopes to one day write jokes for a living. Not a bad way to live life, right? Anyways, this blog is meant to share my thoughts and observations as I write and perform original material.
I first wanted to write comedy as a sophomore in college while watching an episode of Seinfeld, the one where Jerry and George write a pilot for NBC. A couple years later, I took a stand-up class in Rochester, NY and then performed for about six months. After that there was about a three-year gap where I didn’t perform at all, due to a jobs or lack thereof. Three years later I found myself moving to DC, and after I got a job, I started performing again.
Here’s some things I do when I’m not writing/performing comedy:
- Job – Copy Editor at a health and wellness company
- Swing Dance
- Play Chess
- Work Out (run and lift weights)
- Eat Vegetables (by telling myself taste isn’t that important to me)
My belief is that yes, you need to take care of business. You know, the important things in life. That being said, I don’t believe in being serious all the time. Life’s too short. I’m 27 years old, and I’d rather have people think I’m acting like an eight year old than a 78 year old.
Oh, and most importantly, I hope you enjoy reading this blog. Thanks for reading!
